Power2Gas at Specialist Forum on “Biological Methanation”

The East-Bavarian Technology Transfer Institute (Ostbayerische Technologie-Transfer-Institut, OTTI) held its first specialist forum on the topic of biological methanation at Regensburg on 11 November 2015. Leading experts – among others Dr. Stefan Dröge of PFI – presented the latest laboratory and application-oriented developments in the field of biological methanation at this top-calibre event.

Eighty participants attended the booked-out convention, which provided an excellent platform for interdisciplinary exchanges between industry, power suppliers, and research facilities and universities in the key future-oriented areas of storage technology and Power2Gas. The chairman was Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Sterner of Regensburg University of Applied Sciences.

In the course of the event, Dr. Stefan Dröge reported PFI Biotechnology’s latest research results in the field of biological methanation and presented the pressure trickle bed process developed at the Pirmasens institute. Numerous enquiries from the audience and subsequent lively discussions testified to the great interest shown by industry and research in the activities of PFI Biotechnology.

The lecture (in German) entitled “Biologische Methanisierung im Rieselstromreaktor unter thermophilen Bedingungen (Biological Methanation in a Trickle Bed Reactor under Thermophilic Conditions)” can be found here (pdf).
